Regional Training Institutes Offered in 2012
Looking for a way to move your congregation from a paradigm of maintenance to one of mission, from membership to discipleship? "GO, BAPTIZE, MAKE DISCIPLES" is a new training institute for pastors, worship leaders, and educators (e.g. directors of spiritual formation) being offered in 2012 in Phoenix, Baltimore, and Minneapolis.
As congregations seek to find ways to train and equip believers to live a life of discipleship, the catechumenate - an ancient/future process of faith formation and baptismal living practiced by Christians for centuries-is being reclaimed by today's church. You are invited to bring a team from your congregation to explore this gift of the early church and how to introduce it to your faith community. A new congregational resource manual on the catechumenate soon to be published by Augsburg Fortress will be introduced and copies provided to all participants.
Choose from three beautiful locations:
The Oak Ridge Conference Hotel near Minneapolis, MN - May 18-20
Music at all three venues will be provided by Bread for the Journey, a well-known ELCA music group.
These three training institutes are offered by the North American Association for the Catechumenate (NAAC), an ecumenical organization serving mainline Protestant congregations in the US and Canada. It is made possible by a worship renewal grant from the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship with funds provided by the Lily Endowment Inc.
For more information, to download a brochure, and/or to register online please go to www.catechumenate.org.

Wartburg Youth Leadership Weekend
June 21- 25, 2012
Wartburg Seminary has been offering the Wartburg Youth Leadership School (WYLS) for almost fifteen years, and it's been a well-received and positively evaluated experience for young people. However, it has been difficult to offer a full version of WYLS during an ELCA Youth Gathering year: Wartburg wants to support the ELCA Youth Gathering, and we have received consistent feedback from congregations, rostered leaders, and participant families that's it's hard to do both the Youth Gathering and WYLS in one summer. Consequently, we have decided not to hold a full version of WYLS this year or during other ELCA Youth Gathering years. We are looking instead to offer a Wartburg Youth Leadership Weekend earlier in the summer. It will be essentially a "mini-WYLS" condensed into a long weekend; this year the Wartburg Youth Leadership Weekend will be June 21-25, 2012. For more information, contact: wyls@wartburgseminary.edu.
