At OKA, we want to keep the conversation going with all of our clients, both online and in person.  In this newsletter, we balance both with an OKA website update and a new type exercise - focusing on the attitude pairs.

Emotional Intelligence, with an OKA Twist

EQ-i
EQ-i
With extensive experience in self-development and relationship management, OKA has used the principles of Emotional Intelligence for years. Now, we offer formal training on a top-notch instrument in the field: the EQ-i. With the EQ-i, you self-assess your connection to fifteen specific elements of emotional well being and general psychological health. The EQ-i allows you to quantify your emotional behaviors and attitudes, and compare yourself to a norm group.

The opportunity of the EQ-i is translating the instrument's report into a palatable plan of action and moving from insights to applied results. With this goal in mind, we have put together a unique three-day EQ-i Certification Workshop that trains you to administer and interpret the EQ-i, and to use OKA's new training approach, which details the exploration and analysis of each of the fifteen EQ elements. OKA wants to help you take EQ training beyond simple instrument administration to a larger, more impactful process of personal development and skill building.

OKA's next EQ-i Certification Workshop is June 23-25, 2010 in Fairfax, Virginia. Want a sneak peek before committing to the three days?  Take and get personal feedback on the EQ-i on-line and over the phone for $200.  If you decide to attend the Certification Workshop, we'll deduct the $200 from your registration fee. Access EQ-i Certification Workshop page for more.

Web Strategies for OD Professionals:
Building Your Online Presence Webcast

OKA's recent Generations survey revealed that our customers generally embrace face-to-face communication far more than technological connection - not surprising given the focus of many organization development professionals!  At the same time, many OD professionals also recognize the value of online tools for positioning their businesses, and reaching out to new clients. How do you do so both efficiently and effectively?

Join Jennifer Tucker, OKA's Consulting Director, on a CBODN Webinar on Thursday. June 17 to explore this topic!  Designed to support anyone who wants to either establish or hone an online presence, we will help you chart your online "content strategy" - how to plan your web presence, create and publish high-impact content, and maintain and continuously improve your web world.

Are you an OD professional that wants to establish or improve your online presence?  Not sure if your website is touching potential clients the way you want?  Asking yourself if you NEED a website? What online methods are likely to have the most impact? How do you decide what to take on, and how do you get started?  This session will explore these questions.

Communicating with Attitudes (Type Attitudes!)

The Type Attitudes"We need better communication!" It's a common theme from clients when they come to us for customized workshops using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). What does "better communication" mean for the team, though?  Often, we use the Attitude pairs to start this conversation. The "Attitudes" of psychological type theory: Extraversion or Introversion (E/I) and Judging or Perceiving (J/P) indicate how and how frequently individuals and teams are likely to operate in the outer world.

Learn more about the attitudes, including a client case study, and a downloadable exercise, handout, and worksheet at the following post:
