Can Meditation Art Heal?

Greetings!

It is so rewarding to be around artists and art lovers! There is a sense of joy and appreciation for beauty that are not found in all disciplines.  This month, the Blue Moon Gallery is celebrating an exciting art collaboration with dozens of local fine artists. But more personally, I am delighted to introduce a new series of meditation-oriented wall sculptures called "Mirrors to the Soul."  I am always so appreciative of receiving your feedback, so feel free to let me know what you would like to see in this newsletter.

"Collectively Speaking" show at Blue Moon Gallery
August 11th, 6-9 PM (and all month):

Metal3 Metal1 Please come and join me and my artist friends at the Blue Moon Gallery in August. The official reception starts the evening of August 11th with wine, hors d'oeuvres, live music and FINE ART, but the show lasts all month. Above is a glimpse of a portion of my entries.  Below is a list of participating artists.

Does Meditation-Oriented Art Help You Heal?

About three years ago, then-owners of the Sunlight of the Spirit recovery center asked me to provide my Spirit Goddess figurines, hearts, and other small sculptures for their wonderful store at 2314 J Street in Sacramento.  But ever since then, I wanted to create something that really fit in with the theme of recovery and renewal ... maybe something dealing with meditation, relaxation, focusing inward, etc.  A couple of weeks ago, my muse told me exactly what to create: "Mirrors to the Soul."  My blog describes more about this process and the result. I hope you love the pieces as much as I do.

Sept 29th Elk Grove Studio Show - Save the Date

Mark your calendars for September 29th.  Ten art studios (including mine) in Elk Grove will welcome your visit. Sculpture, oil, waercolor, acrylic, wood working, jewelry, pottery, textile art, collage will be represented from 27 different artists. It will be SO FUN!

And you may view a "Sneak Preview" of artwork donated by participating Elk Grove artists.  Raffle tickets will be available from August 4th through September 29th at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center (EGFAC is located at 9080 Elk Grove Blvd.).  At least 27 winners will be announced at the EGFAC 1st Saturday Art Reception on October 6th.  I am donating a couple of goblets for the raffle, so buy your tickets early from EGFAC.

Garden Nymph Found a New Home!

I met so many new art lovers at my last Open Studio Show in April.  Many were Facebook "friends" who I had never before met. One, in particular, lived outside of Sacramento but came with friends to my studio. She fell in love with Garden Nymph, one of my metal kinetic sculptures which I had just finished painting with vivid oxide colors.  I recently installed the sculpture in Debra's classy home.

THANK YOU!

I truly appreciate your support of my art.  Any time you want to add something extra special to your art collection, please let me know. And if you think someone else would like to receive this newsletter, please feel free to click on the "Forward email" link near the bottom of this page.
