Teeming with Life Tile Sculpture
Joyous June

Greetings!

It is so hard to believe that summer is almost here, with temperatures still barely kissing the 70-degree mark and still lots and lots of rain!  But there are all sorts of fun things in store for us this month, including a poll of your opinions on a new sculpture!  Please read on.

Outdoor Art at Blue Moon Gallery - June 10-30th

The Happiness QuotientI am so excited to show you my newest metal/clay garden art piece called "The Happiness Quotient" at the Blue Moon Gallery.  About eight feet tall, the colorful, fun body rotates easily on her metal axis. I also have two big lighted outdoor art pieces there, as well as lots of metal and clay art suitable for indoors or outdoors.

I will be at Blue Moon from 6-7:30 PM 6/10/11 and at the Kuumba Collective Gallery after that.

The gallery is open Weds-Saturdays, noon to 5 PM, 2353 Albatross (off El Camino fro Business 80; turn right onto Albatross then right onto Silica to Blue Moon's driveway immediately on the right), Sacto, 95815.

Pot Show on June 18th - Perfect for Dad

Kanika Marshall artOn Saturday, June 18, 2011, the Sacramento Potters Group (SPG) will have their annual Pot Show at the Garden. Come and see one of the best selections of clay, glass and metal art available at a single show in one place.

The show will be held from 10 AM to 4 PM in the beautiful McKinley Park setting at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, CA.  The Center is located right across the street from the tennis courts.

This will be my last public art show until the Crocker Art Museum Holiday Art Show in late November 2011.  So please come and check out this family show with live clay making demos.

More information is on the SPG Facebook Page.

Please Help Name This Art

To be namedAt the Laguna Lake Art Show in May, I encouraged people to carve on this piece of wall art.  We created an amazing female form.

If you look closely, you will see many words of inspiration hidden within her, like: Joy, Love, Hope, Mom, and other words.  But what should she be called?

The winning name will receive a 25% discount on any sculpture from the website or from the June 18th Pot Show at McKinley Park.
