KANIKA MARSHALL  -  May 2010
Infusing tribal colors with exotic clay sculptures, textiles, glass, leather, stone & recycled metal

 Greetings!

Hurray!   We have had some fabulous weekends lately.  The air is scented with the aroma of blooming flowers.  People are in their gardens and I am in the studio busily expanding my outdoor art collection for you.

On Saturday, May 1st, I'll have lots of beautiful Mother's Day gifts for your mom, sister, daughter, and/or cherished momma friends.

                                                    Enjoy Your Blessings,
                                                                          Kanika Marshall

Mother's Day Prep at the Clay Fest Art Show on May 1st

Kanika at Clay FestIt's time for the Annual Clay Fest!  Dozens of clay artists showing all manner of clay work, from pottery, sculptures, masks, and clay statues.  This is part of the Feats of Clay celebration in Lincoln, California.  We will be set up between 10 AM and 4 PM between Lincoln City Hall and the Lincoln Arts Gallery, around 580 6th Street.

In honor of Mother's Day, I will be giving away a free sculpture to everyone who purchases $50 or more in Kanika African Sculptures.

Newest Member of the Kuumba Collective Gallery

Kanika's Artwork at Kuumba CollectiveI was honored when the owners of the Kuumba Collective Art Gallery asked me to become a member of their merry band.  That means that I will have a good-sized collection of my sculptures at the gallery ALL THE TIME
!  You may check out my three-dimensional statues, masks, two-dimensional wall pieces, and figurines.  And in the "Diva Corner" there are beautiful heart sculptures and pendants.  I will also have a sampling of my mother's Marshall watercolor prints and originals.

The gallery is open
every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between noon and 6 PM, at 1001 Del Paso Blvd, Suite #1, in Sacramento, CA.  Their motto is: "Handcrafted Items by African American Artists for Everyone to Enjoy."

Please stop by and check out the art of about one dozen local artists. There are paintings, prints, jewelry, handmade quilts, spiritual art, pottery, stone and mud cloth art, handmade hats and purses, a wide variety of teas and teapots, scarves, sculptures, note cards, and much more.  Great original art for your collection or gifts.
