My Warrior Divas are looking for a new home. They will be on display during April at the Kuumba Collective Art Gallery, 1001 Del Paso Blvd. But we will have a special party showing them off this Saturday, April 10th, from 3-9 PM, and April 11th from 2-5 PM. Feel free to come early to the show, before you hit the other fun Second Saturday Art Walk events. Warrior Divas Show on 4/10/10 and Kanika's Artist Reception on 4/11/10
 I was honored when the owners of the Kuumba Collective Art Gallery asked me to extend my Warrior Diva Featured Artist Show from March through April. I am so excited about this new direction in my artwork and would love to show it off to you during the Second Saturday Art Walk, April 10th, from 3-9 PM, and get your feedback on the show. I have over  60 sculptures in the show, ranging from $10 to $2,100 and they all want a good home. Where? 1001 Del Paso Blvd., Sacramento, CA.

to the Kuumba Collective gallery for 10% your purchase of Kanika African
Sculptures at the gallery. Remember, Mother's Day is just

On Sunday, April 11th, there's also going to be an Artist Reception from 2-5 PM at the Kuumba Gallery. You can get a more personal look at my artwork and the art of about a dozen other talented local artists. Also . . . I'll bring some clay and tools so you can carve your own mask pendant . . . for free.

April 13th Youth Fundraiser At Fat Mike's Pizza in Elk Grove
This one might interest you local folks! On Tuesday, April 13th, from 6-9 PM, the Elk Grove Artists club is having a fundraiser at Fat Mike's Pizza, 8970 Grantline Road, Elk Grove, CA. There will be lots of wonderful art up for auction and raffle (I've donated one small sculpture, and I've gotten a peek at some of the donated work...nice!). Proceeds benefit the club's youth scholarship fund and other youth programs. Not only can you bid on art, but a portion of the proceeds from the pizzas will also go toward the club. Need an excuse to go out for pizza on April 13th? There ya go! :-)

DIVA-licious!!!!
The Biggest Diva!  | They're just getting bigger and bigger, aren't they?
The six-foot Warrior Divas made their appearance last month and now a series of kinetic sculptures that would
use the wind and outdoor elements to turn, twist, bounce, and move the
sculpture. Metal seems to be the most durable material to use as a
foundation for these kinetic sculptures.

Mom and Me: "Legacy"
I am so excited! Blue Moon Gallery will be having a retrospective of my mom's watercolors and my current clay work at a show in July called "Legacy." A sneak peek is on my Breast Cancer Survivor Blog.
