Greetings!
It's almost the start of summer! And there's a lot going on in my studio! So much to create, so little time. Like trying to develop a special piece for the KVIE Art Auction since my last year's piece was used on the front of the flyer for this year's show. And trying to create some interesting pieces for the State Fair Fine Art Show. And updating my website and blogs. We'll talk about bits and pieces in this newsletter.

Elk Grove Celebrates Artists on June 13th
The
Elk Grove Artists (EGA) group invites you to enjoy a day of fine art as you
stroll the shaded corridors of "The Village" Shopping Center. We are
proud to present this opportunity for local and regional artists to
connect with a growing community. Proceeds from the event benefit the EGA's
Youth Art Scholarship Program. The event is free to the public. NOTE: Most artists will be raffling off a special art gift. The hours are 10am to
4pm, at 9669 East Stockton Boulevard, Elk Grove, CA. I will be in space #3.

Pot Show in McKinley Park on June 27th
 On Saturday,
June 27, 2009, the Sacramento
Potters Group (SPG) will have their Second annual Pot Show at the Garden. Come
and see one of the best selections of clay, glass and metal art
available at a si ngle show in Sacramento.
The show will be held from 10
AM to 4 PM in the beautiful McKinley Park setting at the Shepard Garden
and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento, CA. The Center is
located right across the street from the tennis courts.
Eric Struck from IMCO ceramics will be demonstrating his mastery of the potter's wheel, so bring the family and a picnic lunch. Check out pictures from the SPG January Show.

I Am A Masochist!

Fresh New Works from the Kiln
 I am an undisciplined, nonconforming type of artist. I do not have nice, orderly themes of work. I do not painstakingly think about exactly what I am going to create and then draw it out carefully before the sculpting begins.
NOPE, that's not me!
For example, on the same day in the studio, I could create a plate like this one, a 3-D statue, a goddess, and some hearts. See more new works in my blog.
