GREETINGS FROM NORTHERN N.H.!

The question right now is whether you should take a snowmobile or a fly rod next time you visit us in the north country. No, it hasn't been one of our better winters for snow up here. In fact, it is nothing like the 240 inches we received last winter. Still, we have the most snow and trails open in NH as of right now, and the Pittsburg Ridge Runners groomers are doing the best they can with what they have. In the meantime, conditions can change very quickly up here, so we'll keep hoping for that big storm to come through. If "the big one" does happen, March mid-week snowmobiling can be some of the best riding of our season as the trails are usually uncrowded and the temps are moderate. We'll be offering the same special this year that we did last year in March: the "March Mid-Week Madness" special (see the coupon below). Stay two midweek nights (Sunday - Thursday) and receive a third midweek night for free in the same unit. We had quite a few guests take advantage of this offer last year, so if you're looking for an affordable break away from it all, this might be the right time to do it.

On the flip side, this mildest of winters has made for some good days to get out on the water and fish the Connecticut River, even in January and February. Several good salmon have found their way on to my line, making me feel pretty good about myself! For those adventurous fishing guests of ours, March can be a nice month for productive days out there as well - think streamers / nymphs in soft water and you'll be in the ballpark.

You don't have to snowmobile to enjoy March either - the snowshoeing and cross country skiing can be incredible too when the conditions are right. Enjoy a great day outside in the fresh air on a pair of our snowshoes (free for you) - we have some great trails in mind if you decide to come our way.
