GREETINGS FROM NORTHERN N.H.!
Winter is finally over, as its last remains gradually melted in to the lake last night. This was definitely a late "ice out" for us. In fact, we haven't had a May ice out in quite a few years (last year was our earliest ever, as it vacated the lake on April 10). We'll have boats in the water for this weekend, and the holdover trout can be brilliant at this time of year. Cindy has set up our fly shop in the lodge, and N.H. Fish & Game should start their stocking efforts soon on Back Lake, so it's safe to say that fishing season is here, and we're ready for its return. The river's still ripping, folks, with more rain expected this week. That leaves Back Lake and Lake Francis as the two fishing options at the moment.
