Icardi Dadelio Bianco - $45-50 Rated 91 Points AAA Tasting Price $34 Claudio is a very intriguing personality. A farmer's sensibility with a sharp wit and Piedmontese sense of humor, he and his family are a classic illustration of the wine production families so revered in this region. Like many progressive wine producers, Icardi has taken his production to a new level in recent decades with a dedication to natural techniques in the vineyards and has worked very hard to maintain and explain such a philosophy: A commitment to leave the earth a better place than it was found. The "Dadelio Bianco," biodynamically made, is a blend of Cortese and Moscato Giallo. Aged for six months in Acacia barrels, this wine is full of intrigue. One of the most influential/respected Italian critics says, " ...this wine is set to raise eyebrows. A wine that will open your eyes like firelight. - Sophie Marceau "Like liquid flowers bobbing in a breeze of unctuous fruit, the Dadelio has high aspirations indeed and it does not tire the palate - it invigorates." (Only 500 cases produced) Icardi Brachetto - $29 - Rated 92 Points AAA Tasting Price $26 This is 100% Brachetto d'Aqui from Piedmont that is aromatic with a hint of rose petals and raspberries. A unique red sparkling wine that is a just a touch sweet. It is a festive, lightly effervescent wine that can be served as a sweet aperitif and it pairs well with a number of foods, including chocolate and creamy cheeses. Please be sure to try it with the cheese we are sampling from Brie & Bleu - it is sublime. Grown in the Piedmont, it displays a bright, translucent, ruby red color. This remarkable example is straightforward and uncomplicated, it's meant to be enjoyed rather easily without much discussion. The finish is clean, long and soft. Your friends will be amazed.
