BACK IN THE SADDLE WITH OLD FRIENDS
Fournier Sauvignon Blanc $14
Claude Fournier owns many of the best vineyards in Sancerre, Pouilly Fume and Menetou Salon, and this is a blend of 100% Sauvignon Blanc from each region.
Ancient Sauvignon Blanc vines from the Loire in Northern France - like Sancerre at half the price.
Built with an unfailing respect for tradition - Piercing lime and mineral fruit aromas with crisp grapefruit and herbal notes followed by a crystalline clean, citrus finish - Pale golden, crisp and mineral, Sauvignon is the ultimate with scallops, shrimp or lobsters.
This is a must have for the Summer season and a great value at this price.
Mandolin Pinot Noir $15
"Our best under twenty"
California Pinot is back! With tone and balance - developed by Brent Shortridge and Philip Zorn, Mandolin has the luxury of drawing on top vineyard sources in some of California's best growing regions. Fruit forward and bright with hints of leather and cedar, Mandolin serves as a perfect accompaniment to salmon, roasted pork or lamb.
Mandolin is a collaboration of winemaker Phillip Zorn and California mainstay Brent Shortridge. By combining Zorn's European background with Shortridge's extensive Central Coast and Monterey connections, they craft excellent wines with character to spare.
The aim is to produce a beverage that can compare to a mandolin's "brilliant tone and great carrying power."
Antano Rioja $14
This is a 2005 bottling and their current vintage! Talk about under the radar... Smoky, perfect, old-school Rioja. This will not last long, because the staff might buy it all!
If you're looking for a slightly more interesting red wine that you can enjoy with food or by itself, but that isn't the usual bottle of merlot, this is definitely the bottle you should try.
