 This French bargain from Gascony's limestone plateau is back in stock!
Laser-clear Sauvignon Blanc that can pinch-hit for Sancerre, or even compete with
New Zealand finesse at a fraction of the price. We will try to have a case stack waiting, as it never lasts long.
Il Faggio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo $12
This lyrical medium-bodied red comes rom Italy's Adriatic coast in Abruzzo.
Fresh and spicy fruit on the nose with a rounded black pepper and cherry flavor. Balanced and not too heavy, a lovely newcomer that is accessible and unmistakably Italian.
This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is intense in color so characteristic of the Montepulciano grape variety.
On the palate it is chocolatey, with a dark chocolate cherry character supported by robust but supple tannins.
Dominio de Heredia Rioja $14
This is a smoky, old-school Rioja at the perfect price point. Many modern Spanish wines depart from finesse completely and deliver fruit-bomb ink instead - this is not the case with Dominio de Heredia: medium weight with a smoky perfume from oak cask, this will match beautifully with stews and ham, complementing without overpowering. Definitely on our top ten of the year!
