* Old Town Cinema presents Bottle Shock at the Empire Sunday May 1^stat 7:30 pm

Bottle Shock is a 2008 American comedy-drama film based on the 1976 wine competition termed the "Judgment of Paris", when California wine defeated French wine in a blind taste test. Starring Alan Rickman, Chris Pine, and Bill Pullman.

$25 per person includes admission to the movie, tasting menu including crab cakes w/ avocado crème followed by Humbolt Fog & Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese plate w/ honey and toast. Tickets also include a blind tasting of French v. Californian wines just like the movie!

Tickets available at the Empire Bar, $25 in advance, $25 that evening (if still available)

Our good friend Joe Keagan is back in the Cohen Kitchen. Joe started working for Jim way back in the Tante Louise Days (1981). Joe also worked with Jim at the Lodge at Vail for many years. We are very excited to have such an excellent chef working at the Empire during his off season. Thanks Joe!

May's cocktail recipe

Spicy Agave Juice

2 oz Milagro Silver Tequila

I large slice of fresh Jalapeño

½ oz agave nectar

½ oz fresh lime juice

In a rocks glass muddle the Jalapeno & agave nectar together. Once the Jalapeno has been lightly crushed fill the glass w/ ice & add Milagro Silver Tequila & lime juice. Shake or stir drink until the agave nectar is no longer settled in the bottom of the glass. Now sip and enjoy!!
