Dear ,
We are honored to have been asked to co-chair a very important capital campaign on behalf of the Sisters of Saint Margaret. Spirit & Light will enable the Sisters to embark on the next century of their work with the sick, the homeless, the imprisoned, the needy, the troubled ...and even those who simply crave a respite from the relentless pressures of daily life. Both of us are long-time Associates of the Society; we know first hand the importance of the Sisters' mission and ministry.
For those who have experienced the hospitality of the Sisters of Saint Margaret, this letter will serve as a reminder of the ways in which the Sisters have revitalized your lives. We hope that you will choose to respond to that reminder with a generous gift to ensure the viability of the Sisters' mission.
Others of you may have responded to the crisis following last year's Haitian earthquake, which destroyed the Sisters' convent, school, and care home in Port-au-Prince. Perhaps you're on our "list" because you are an inveterate supporter of the Episcopal church in its myriad manifestations. In either case, we are counting on you to help the Sisters reconfigure their ministries for the decades ahead.
Spirit & Light is a brave and bold move, literally. In order to better allocate resources for mission, the American house will relocate to a new, environmentally-friendly facility to be built on the Sisters' Duxbury property. City ministry will continue, work in Haiti will move forward, all unimpeded by the burdens of a large and inefficient building.
Won't you please join us by sharing your gifts with the Sisters so they may continue the extraordinary work to which God has called them?
Blessings,
The Rt. Rev. Geralyn Wolf &
Adrienne Southgate
