During this presentation, we will discuss the creative process by focusing on sources of inspiration and the photographic execution of an idea. We will explain ways to draw inspiration, how to gather a creative team when necessary, techniques of lighting, lens choices, as well as some post-processing tips that keep the Creative process alive. Whether you're capturing personal images or producing images for a photographic business, finding new sources of inspiration for your work is an ongoing process. This is one event you don't want to miss!

Join professional Mac computer consultant and award-winning digital photography artist, Christina Stow, as she gives a grand tour of the beautiful, cool, user-friendly Mac interface. These easy, crucial starter lessons show you how to get around on your Mac. This workshop introduces you to many of your computer's applications, and how to use them. Digital cameras and digital video cameras do much of the work, but if you want to view, edit, and share what you've caught, you'll need to transfer the pictures, or video, to your Mac. If possible, please bring an Apple laptop, iMac, iPad, and/or a digital camera, camera card with images, and a media reader, if you have one.

16th Annual Caribbean Crossroads Series Exhibit & Marketplace Southampton
Global Arts/Media and Diaspora Vibe Cultural Incubator will presents "Diaspora Vibe 2.0," the 16th Annual Caribbean Crossroads Series Exhibit, a dazzling display of provocative, contemporary fine art by more than 30 artists from the Latin American and Caribbean Diaspora, August 11 - 26, 2012 at the Southampton Cultural Center. Gallery Hours are Monday through Saturday, 12 - 4 PM. In addition to the exhibit, an Artist Marketplace will be held for three weekends in August at the Southampton Inn, 91 Hill Street in Southampton. As part of the Maritime Heritage of the North Fork Festival coordinated by East End Arts, Peconic Landing, East End Seaport Museum and Brecknock Hall Foundation, artists are invited to submit maritime themed images to be exhibited in Brecknock Hall in Greenport. Exhibit dates are October 18 - 28, 2012. Opening Reception for the show is October 18, 2012, from 5:30-6:30 PM. The jurors are arts advocate Vivian Sheehan and artist Alan Bull. CALL FOR ARTISTS: Rendering a New Home for the Patchogue Art Museum The Patchogue Art Museum (PAM!) is seeking renderings in any medium of its newfound home - a historic 101-year-old building in downtown Patchogue. The Museum was recently gifted wall space inside the Industrial Coverage Corporation (ICC) building, at 62 South Ocean Avenue. The ornate two-story white marble building was constructed in 1911 as Union Savings Bank and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum's open call to artists will accept interpretations of the ICC building exterior in any medium, with a $250 cash prize. A Juried Photography Exhibit and Benefit Sale For 40 years, the NFEC has fought to protect and preserve many of the most scenic areas of the North Fork. NFEC has written and spoken often about these special places but as the saying goes... a picture is worth 1,000 words. NFEC is seeking photography of the North Fork. CALL FOR ARTISTS & PERFORMERS for Long Island Fringe Festival 2012 Fringe advocates collaborative arts on Long Island. The Fringe Festival incorporates an art fair, an art show and a theater performance all into one, creating a cultural hub. In 2012 we have a true Long Island festival covering the next six months, featuring over 10 performances in more than half a dozen locations.
