The EEA Student Orchestra have been rehearsing since early July in preparation for this incredible opportunity with the greatest violinist of our time. No Photos or Video during the rehearsal.

Frustrated with Acrylics? This is the course for you! Ms. Stark will guide you through working with this versatile medium. Instruction is given in how to make paint flow and move across the surface. Learn how to make your paintings sing and come alive. Demos as well as examples will be part of this exciting class. Color wheel, composition and the basic principles of painting will be discussed.

RELIEF PRINTMAKING WITH LINOCUTS

Relief Printmaking is the most effective, inexpensive and exciting of printmaking techniques. In this workshop participants will learn a variety of cutting techniques, and how to transfer, cut, ink and print on paper. Creativity and ideas will result in original, handmade reproducible prints. During this presentation, we will discuss the creative process by focusing on sources of inspiration and the photographic execution of an idea. We will explain ways to draw inspiration, how to gather a creative team when necessary, techniques of lighting, lens choices, as well as some post-processing tips that keep the Creative process alive. Whether you're capturing personal images or producing images for a photographic business, finding new sources of inspiration for your work is an ongoing process. This is one event you don't want to miss!

The Perlman Music Program and Southold High School will present students of the Summer Music School in an orchestra and chorus concert at Southold High School, located at 420 Oaklawn Avenue in Southold, NY. The Summer Music School curriculum includes rigorous study of the orchestral and choral repertoire, and this performance allows students to share their studies with the North Fork community. PMP is grateful to Icim and Mark Miller for generously underwriting and supporting this concert. Tickets will be available for purchase at North Fork area businesses, and at the door of the event.

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Rendering a New Home for the Patchogue Art Museum The Patchogue Art Museum (PAM!) is seeking renderings in any medium of its newfound home - a historic 101-year-old building in downtown Patchogue. The Museum was recently gifted wall space inside the Industrial Coverage Corporation (ICC) building, at 62 South Ocean Avenue. The ornate two-story white marble building was constructed in 1911 as Union Savings Bank and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum's open call to artists will accept interpretations of the ICC building exterior in any medium, with a $250 cash prize. OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS The Retreat, the only non-profit domestic violence agency serving the East End of Long Island, is pleased to announce their 4th Annual Juried Art Show. The show is open to all artists with work in Photography, Painting, 2D, 3D, and Sculpture (no video art). The work cannot be larger than 24" x 36". The deadline to enter is August 1, 2012. Entry fee is $50 per entry, limit 3 entries (1 entry is $50, 2 is $100, and 3 is $150). For 40 years, the NFEC has fought to protect and preserve many of the most scenic areas of the North Fork. CALL FOR ARTISTS & PERFORMERS for Long Island Fringe Festival 2012 Fringe advocates collaborative arts on Long Island. The Fringe Festival incorporates an art fair, an art show and a theater performance all into one, creating a cultural hub.
