June 2012
More and more nurses are being called upon to collect forensic evidence during their care giving, especially if your speciality is emergency room nursing.  I bet when you were training to become a nurse you never gave a thought to evidence collection and preservation and its relevance to your profession.  However, with the abundance and popularity of forensic programming on television, our society has  "raised the bar" on their expectations in the trial process, whether criminal or civil.  Nurses are being called upon to partner with the criminal justice system to assist with convictions.

Our goal is to make sure that you are prepared when and if that happens.  By offering nursing professionals the same base level of forensic preparedness training as we do our law enforcement and emergency response professionals, we ensure continuity in processes and techniques and reduce the cost, error and probability of inappropriate acquittals.  Interested in learning more or if you think you could be impacted by forensics, please join us in November as we explore and define the relationship between nursing and forensics from crime scene to trial.
