Standing Ovation in Mt. Lebanon

PYSO was invited to perform on the popular Music for Mount Lebanon series on November 1.  The concert featured 4 PYSO alumni as soloists who were also winners of the Keynotes Scholarship Competition.  Edward Merritt (bass) performed the rarely heard virtuoso Bottesini Concerto, followed by Anne Jackovic playing an effervescent rendition of Mozart's Violin Concerto in A.  Colin Brookes created a totally new mood with the more contemporary Walton Viola Concerto and T.J. Wible came to center stage with a sparkling performance of Mozart's Flute Concerto in G.

Daniel Meyer conducted the concert which also included The Moldau by Smetana, Intermezzo from Carmen by Bizet, and selections from Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra.
