The Sippican Lands Trust, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1974 for the acquisition, management and protection of natural areas in Marion.  The ultimate goal of the Trust is to protect wildlife, ecosystems and natural resources as well as the history, heritage and beauty of the area.  Open land not only provides us with a sense of tranquility and pleasure now, but the protection of this land is our legacy for future generations.

Protecting Family Lands With Conservation Easements

Wednesday, April 29th 7:00-8:30 pm
Mattapoisett Library, Lower Level Meeting Room
7 Barstow Street in Mattapoisett

Come and get information about the potential benefits of protecting your land with a conservation easement/restriction.  Help to protect our region's natural beauty, rural character, water quality, wildlife and natural resources; retain ownership and privacy; and lower your taxes.

An important new opportunity in the tax code allows qualifing conservation easement donors to receive a 50% federal income tax deduction for up to 16 years.  However, this opportunity is set to expire at the end of 2009.

Now is the time to consider if this option is right for you.

This program is sponsored by The Coalition for Buzzards Bay in partnership with Sippican Lands Trust, Mattapoisett Land Trust, Wareham Land Trust, Rochester Land Trust, Fairhaven-Acushnet Land Preservation Trust, Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust, Westport Land Conservation Trust, The Trustees of Reservations and the Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts.  It is free and open to all.
