Festival of Blossoms Returns to Door County As spring sweeps through Wisconsin, blossoms return to Door County for their annual pilgrimage in the form of cherry and apple blossoms, daffodils, tulips, wild flowers and more. The 19th annual Door County Festival of Blossoms, running from April 27 - June 3, offers visitors a number of opportunities to enjoy spring from weekend events to garden walks to blossom trolley tours. Marinette: Where Water Meets Woods
Marinette and its "twin" city, Menominee, Michigan, offer an exciting maritime and lumbering heritage you can explore in a variety of ways. Both cities are home to museums that showcase area history. The Marinette County Historical Museum is located on leafy Stephenson Island in the Menominee River. Park at the city's welcome center behind Stephenson Public Library and access the island by foot bridge to learn about the area during the lumber boom and beyond. In Menominee, the Menominee County Historical Society's Heritage Museum is located in the former St. John the Baptist Church in the heart of the city.
Today the shipbuilding industry is booming in the Marinette area, and so are a variety of other industries. If you are a skilled worker, you can find jobs in an area that offer plenty to do if you enjoy the water and the woods. Come visit Marinette!

OCONTO | |
Copper Culture State Park
The community of Oconto is located at the mouth of the Oconto River as it enters the waters of Green Bay. A favorite among Oconto visitors is the beautiful Copper Culture State Park. The park was established after a 1952 discovery of artifacts relating to the Old Copper culture that dated to approximately 4000 to 3000 BC.
As the burial ground of North America's earliest metal users, the Oconto site is the oldest dated cemetery in eastern North America. Admission is free and a guided tour is available by appointment. The locally owned park museum is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and offers a detailed look at Copper Culture life and times.
