Hanson Galleries Celebrates the Third Annual
National "American Craft Week"
with two Houston Arts Guild Shows!

American Craft Week is celebrated nation wide! We fully participate in supporting American artists all year long, but this week we invite you to show your support of our local artists by attending our "meet and greet" open houses. As we welcome in fall, we welcome you whenever you wish to stop by!

Houston Metal Arts Guild Show

"Theme and Variations"

In the entries for this year's juried show and sale are new names and old favorites. There will be table-mounted and ceiling hung mobiles, sculpture, wall art and very interesting jewelry pieces. Many surprises will fascinate and delight you in the entries for this annual showing of the ClayHouston organization. You can see the entire show on our website home page after its opening night.

New jewelry with patina
Pins, pendants, earrings

Sarah Richardson's jewelry is a process of evolving designs. Drawn to the organic quality of each individual pod, a repetition of these elements creates geometric form.
Using traditional wax carving techniques, each piece is hand carved, then cast in sterling. Using heat to bring the fine metal to the surface, each piece is then polished on the edges creating an interior glow.

We still have customers going to Uptown to shop, but that store moved in March to the shopping center on the north-west corner of Post Oak and Westheimer.

We FACE Grand Lux Cafe across the parking lot and are next door to the delicious Nothing Bundt Cakes. We are three stores off of Westheimer.

National "American Craft Week" is here!

The

fall season has finally arrived and Hanson Galleries is busy bringing you three juried shows and an event-filled American Craft Week.

Stop in the Post Oak location on October 5th from 5-8 to drink, have small bites and meet the artists of the Houston Metal Arts Guild.

Their show opens then and promises to have many surprises. Wall art, mobiles, sculptures and their wonderful jewelry will be ready for your perusal.

We will be opening the ClayHouston show On Friday, Oct 12th from 5-8 at the Post Oak location with more surprises and exciting work.

On Sat, Oct 13th, artists will be doing clay demonstrations at both stores.

After a successful month at the Post Oak location, the Texas

Association of Original Doll Artists Show will move to the Memorial City location on Tues, Oct 10th and will run for another 10 days. The show is a true delight to see! If you haven't seen it, it is worth taking the time.

Once again it is our honor to accept the American Cancer Association's "Holiday Shopping Card." Those dates are Oct 25-Nov 4. Be sure to follow their instructions on its use.
