"Bill Meek: With Hammer and Glass"

Bill Meek is a Houston artist who has a unique style of artistic expression. His world-class sculpture is the result of transforming thick cold glass, mostly recycled, with a hammer and rearranging the pieces into sparkling, powerful works of art.
Don't confuse his discipline with glass blowing. A glass blower makes glass while Bill actually breaks it and restores it into innovative designs that have won him international acclaim from art critics. He has permanent installations in places such as Wells Fargo Bank and most recently the Beth Yeshurun Synagogue.
Bill's sculpture is playful, symbolic and sometimes kinetic. His broken glass style illuminates not just the room, but your soul. Quoting Bill, "I push the limits of what glass is known to do." Carved bone feather jewelry
 For this new jewelry, each feather is delicately hand carved from American Buffalo bone and then elaborately hand painted into feathers representing real birds. Included in the wild wing collection are birds of prey, hummingbirds and ducks.
The precision detail of these fanciful bird feathers are painstakingly crafted in the mountains of Colorado by a group of artists that were lucky enough to train under the original Silver Hawk before he died. The jewelry's integrity and precision detail are testimony to their years of dedication.

Reminder of new location
Post Oak Centre store
We still have customers going to Uptown to shop, but that store moved in March to the shopping center on the north-west corner of Post Oak and Westheimer.
Morton's Steak House and Arcodoro Restaurants as well as Nothing Bundt Cakes and Sports Clips are our neighbors in the shopping center. We FACE Grand Lux Cafe across the parking lot. We are three stores off of Westheimer.
There is a parking garage with an entrance off of McCue; however, there is plenty of free parking in the shared lot in in front of the store. The sketch will help you locate us.

"Texas Association of original doll Artists" picks Hanson Galleries for their fall show Juried show will open Friday, Sept 14th and continue through Oct  "Box Seat at the Garden Party" is by T May and stands 22" tall. It is an exploration of the tree of knowledge myth using sculpture in polymer clay, found wooden candle stick and wrought iron candle holder. The book she is holding has pages in 5 languages.
