Murano Glass Show and Sale
continues through July 21st It is an honor that Hanson Galleries was chosen to introduce this outstanding young glass artist to Houston! Gianluca Vidal worked and studied under many of the Glass Maestros on the Island of Murano while honing his talent.
We have a lovely collection of his current work that has graciously been offered to us at 30-50% savings. Click here to see the entire selection currently being shown at both our galleries.
Remember it needs to travel to another gallery in late July so you only have a few weeks to still stop by to see this beautiful work.

Metal quilts and mirrors A family affair
These quilts for the wall are original pieces of art created by Kim Eubank and Will Armstrong. From a combination of crafts classes in college, Kim pieced together these geometric beauties using an enameling technique that she learned in a jewelry class. Her husband Will, employed at a frame factory at that time, was instrumental in figuring out how to take Jill's artwork and hang it on the wall. His graphic arts background helped marry with Jill's talents in creating the Metal Quilt.
We have the stunning triptich and two sizes of mirrors in stock at this time. Many custom sizes, colors and configurations can be special ordered.

Randy Strong...one of America's great glass blowers
Shown at Hanson Galleries for 30 years
Randy Strong is one of a handful of the early pioneering American Glass Artists to help define American Studio Art Glass. Upon graduating from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA, Randy received one of the first scholarships to study at the University of Art in Osaka, Japan.
In 1970, he was with Dale Chihuly and the Haubergs when they selected the location for the now renowned Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, Washington.
For many years Randy has helped to define studio art glass in America with his innovative techniques and materials now widely incorporated by other artists.
His current sculptural work is part of collections ranging from The Corning Museum in NY to the Louvre in Paris.
He continues to create, design and teach. The pieces we are showing are from a previous body of work that became his signature. He recently brought it back into production. |

The Concierge Association of Houston honored us with a stop on their progressive store party!
On June 8 Hanson Galleries hosted an hour long open house for 36 members of the Concierge Association. It was planned to introduce the group to unique stores and good restaurants that they will feel secure in sending their clients to in the future.
This was their first visit to our new location in The Centre at Post Oak and it was a delight to renew old acquaintances. In this business atmosphere it is always good to have lots of word of mouth advertising. We appreciate their interest and won't let their clients down when they visit us.

We appreciate the visits we are getting from our newsletter customers! This is our slowest time of year, so we are running a sale, sharpening our social media image and working on plans for five upcoming juried shows.
We will be hosting a one-man show with Houstonian, Bill Meek, a doll show from the Texas Doll Association, a Houston Metal Artists Guild show, a ClayHouston Show and a repeat of the very popular Terry Evans box show from last Christmas. We will keep you posted in these newsletters about their openings. We are buying for the Nutcracker Market and the Christmas season and making plans for an exciting American Craft Week in October. Let us know if there is work or a specific artist that you would like to see in Hanson Galleries' selections.
