"Murano Maestro"
Glass Show opens July 17th
Once again we are proud to offer you a stunning collection of vases, bowls and sculpture by Afro Celotto. Although they are not on display right now, you can see them in the stores and on our website starting July 17th and continuing through Sept 4th. This outstanding Murano glass artist is producing again and has arranged for a beautiful showing at our Uptown gallery. Click here to see a video of the maestro doing glass blowing.

Prayer partner doll

The dolls are hand sculpted by Gwen out of polymer clay in a wide variety of colors. Each mixed media sculpture is 6" tall and holds a scroll with this thought: ''With best wishes comes this doll, to hold what's close to you. Someone to share your prayers, hopes, or sorrows with. Just put your words on the paper scroll for your prayer partner to hold."

| Hanson Galleries' own Donna Milstein, busy with educational speaking engagements
 Donna just returned from Las Vegas where she was responsible for 16 table topics with presenters for the ACRE Show's new Lunch & Learn events. She also planned and executed a panel discussion on Social Media Marketing. This was all directed to artists and gallery owners in the American craft movement.
Later she presented a two hour lecture on "Marketing your work to a craft gallery and preparing for a gallery showing" to local members of Houston Area Metal Artists Guild. HMAG will be having a juried show opening October 8th at Hanson Galleries during American Craft Week. Donna is Vice President of Education for "Craft Retailers and Artists for Tomorrow", which is spearheading the first National American Craft Week event. |

Wall pockets are back!

Bouquets of fresh, dried or silk flowers echo the pretty designs of these ceramic wall vases. Some have dragonflies or ladybugs nesting in the painted flowers.
Jodi attributes her artistic ability to the expression, "If you believe in yourself then anything is possible."
 Each vase is designed, handpainted, kiln fired, signed and dated by the artist. In fact she states that they were "made for Hanson Galleries" on the back of each piece, making it an even nicer gift. Click here to see some of the other styles we have in stock. |
Origami necklaces

Karen comes from a family that has done craft work for generations. She was the owner of Whippoorwill Gallery in Boston from 1980-2009 when she lost the lease to her store in an unfortunate cooperate shuffle. She has now taken a lifelong avocation and made it a vocation. She is clever with paper making and book making, so has combined that interest with jewelry to design these one-of-a-kind pieces. Handblown glass necklace
