RETAIL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
garminTri & Run Sports Wins
On Friday October 26th at the 11th Annual Business Achievement Awards Gala dinner we were honoured to have been named "Retail Business of the Year!"  The Quinte Business Achievement Awards program is open to any business, entrepreneur or not-for-profit organization based in the communities of Belleville, Quinte West, Brighton and Prince Edward County and is supported by local Governments, banks, Chambers of Commerce, Trenval and the Quinte Economic Development Commission.

Our reward is the acknowledgement within the business community that Tri & Run Sports has filled a local need and that our dedicated staff works hard to be personable and personal, helping all of our clients set, reach for and attain their running and/or triathlon goals and dreams.

On behalf of myself, Assistant Manager Patti Teske, Customer Service Representatives Ryann Musson, Bill Saunders, Cathy Frost and bike specialist Jeff Musson we thank you for your inspiration, dedication and loyalty, and look forward to serving you in the future.

Racing in Quinte
"Just to be the woman who ran 1000 miles..."

If racing is your thing there will be a lot going on in the next few months.  The Fat Ass is fast approaching, next is the Resolution Run 5k (register here ) and 1k kids Walk/Run on January 1, 2008.
We are also excited to announce the Wingnut Half on April 27th.  This "flat, fast Boston qualifier...NOT" will include a 10.5 km, a 2 person half marathon relay and a half marathon.  Beginning in front of Don McCurdy's GM it will head down highway 33 and up Stockdale Road.  Done as a two loop race it will be hilly, hard and immensely satisfying to complete!  More details to follow.

The Quinte FunRunnerswould like to invite you to join them for their Egg Nog 5k/8k fun run.  Sunday December 9th (please note this will take place of the usual Saturday run) at 9am at the Club House in Trenton.  As usual this will be self-timed on an unmarked route (maps provided) with Egg Nog, cookies and seasonal cheer to follow.  Members: Free  Non-members: $2.00

WE WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE LISA BARNES AND PETRA AUSTIN FOR COMPLETING THEIR 1000 MILES WHICH THEY STARTED ACCUMULATING ON JANUARY 1, 2008.
Both runners have earned their 1000 Mile Club shirts which proclaim "Running is a mental sport...and we are all insane!"
Christmas is Coming!!!
Wish ListHelp Your Loved Ones
In the spirit of Christmas giving, give your friends and loved ones a heads up on what you want for Christmas.  Tri & Run Sports currently offers two shopping services.  Either come in yourself, try on what you want and we'll tuck it away for others to come and pick from OR fill in a wish list for them to shop from.  When in doubt we have gift cards that can be loaded with any amount!

yogaREMINDER!!!

There will be yoga classes every other Monday with Donna Lott.   Due to the conflicting work schedule of some members we are skipping this coming scheduled yoga class and having one the following week.  So the next class will be on November 19th and will stay on that alternating schedule (Christmas and new Years excluded).  Each class is $5.00 drop in so come out, see how flexible you are and have some fun!
As we approach the holiday season remember to be safe on the roads, spend some time with an older neighbour and keep sight of the spirit of Christmas; while the giving of gifts may be expected, giving more of yourself to those you love is priceless.

Be happy, be safe and run for fun,

Sandy Musson
