Make it a Soul-Centered Year!
I just finished the final edits for my new book, Soul Centered: Transform Your Life in 8 Weeks with Meditation. It's due out in May (Hay House is publishing it!)
Soul-Centered. Wondering what that means? It's a term I came up with to describe a shift in perspective which meditation cultivates: it's a transformation of the vantage point for one's life.
It's great to go through life soul-centered, and I find it to be one of the most powerful benefits of meditation. Here's why:
When you are soul-centered, you are not dependent on other people or external factors for your sense of self or for your own self-worth. Instead, you begin to depend on an inner reference point to identify yourself: your soul.
When you are soul-centered you are your own navigator. You trust yourself and feel safe and confident wherever you go and whatever you do, no matter who approves of you, who doesn't, no matter what anyone thinks about you, or what they say you should or shouldn't do. Though you care about others deeply, you trust yourself thoroughly.
You can focus your attention where and when you want to, easily, without distraction. You have a receptive awareness and your natural state is relaxed, calm, peaceful, and loving toward yourself and others. You are open to all possibilities and approach life courageously and fearlessly, without aversion or clinging; without offensiveness or defensiveness.
When you are soul-centered, your attention is in the present moment, receiving the moment, welcoming it, and accepting things as they are. You don't struggle against what is happening now or in any moment.... Read more about what it means to be soul-centered.
(Next month, I will share the 5 Essentials for a successful meditation practice with you. You'll also find out which cities I will be teaching meditation in, and where I'll be signing books. Have any ideas where I should speak or teach? Contact us.)

The Yoga of Writing! Meditation Retreat for Women in Sedona
You'll write, listen to yourself, and be heard, perhaps for the very first time.
The Yoga of Writing is an intimate retreat weekend where a woman can commune with her spirit, explore her self and her expression, and experience a deep personal transformation.
Like meditation, writing is a spiritual practice which leads to a profound experience of timelessness and present moment awareness. It's as if a single moment of inspiration can become an eternity.
During the retreat you'll learn to listen to and trust your own voice as you transcend your inner critic, and express yourself in writing from that spaciousness. There will be walking meditations in nature, and gentle yoga offered in this retreat. But the real yoga is the union of your spirit with your own creative soul.
Retreat to the Briar Patch Inn, a secret hideaway nestled in a canyon along the lush banks of Oak Creek, a mile north of Sedona from Friday March 16- Sunday, March 18. It's a healing oasis where you can be immersed in the magic of nature. The intimate retreat is limited to 15 women (it was sold out last year). No writing or meditation experience necessary.Tuition is $375 (21 day early registration) and includes most meals. Affordable housing options are available onsite. Call (928) 204-0067 or click here to find out more.

New Year Intentions....
They say that for most people, the top two resolutions each new year are to lose weight and to fall in love. Well, I don't if they are your resolutions or not, but if they are... how are you doing with them? I have two friends that can help you: Nealon Hightower and Arielle Ford.
First, let's talk about weight loss. Nealon tells me that losing weight isn't about loss, it's about release, and he'd know. He's released over 100 pounds using a combination of meditation, visualization and affirmations and universal principles like gratitude, self awareness and giving back. He did it without dieting and without harsh exercise and the most amazing part...he has maintained his good health for years without a struggle. Nealon says the truth about weight loss is that it fails 98% of the time. "You lose your keys, your house, your job, even your dog, but you don't want to lose weight, you want to release it. When properly done, we don't find it again because it's not lost, it's been let go." Nealon is offering you a free copy of his book, to tell you how to release your unwanted weight like he did. In addition the book, you will have free access to his coaching program (code: Sedona) for 30 days. He'll guide you through the beginning days of your transformation. "How it ends" he says, "usually depends on where you start." Get started now and click here to get your FREE BOOK and FREE COACHING type in code "Sedona"
Are you in a relationship but you want feel more in love? Does your significant other do things that make you crazy? Have you noticed yet that they probably aren't going to change? Well there's help. It's a fabulous new book Wabi Sabi Love by my friend Arielle Ford. (You may remember Arielle wrote the book Soulmate Secret- good for you who haven't yet found someone to be in a nourishing relationship with.) In her new book she shows you how to go from "annoyed to enjoyed" quickly and break some of those bad habits that we can get into in long-lasting relationships. Is it time for you to fall in love all over again? You can! Check out this book and the free bonus gifts including an audio series including tips for love from Harville Hendrix, Alison Armstrong, and Dr. John Gray! |

I'll leave you with what Deepak Chopra said he learned from the Buddhist monks he stayed with a year or so ago:
The most important time is now, the most important person is the one in front of you, and the most important action what you're doing now.
Wishing you a wonderful now.
