Thanksgiving Every Day Squash

If you are like me, you are grateful and appreciate your life, but sometimes you get busy, distracted, or stressed and gratitude is the farthest thing from your mind. Eventually, luckily, you remember how fortunate you are and your appreciation returns. Thanksgiving day is our annual reminder to be grateful. It's one of my favorite holidays. Yes, I like to cook and eat and be with my family and friends, but I truly enjoy basking in the feeling of gratitude.

I'd like to share with you a 20 minute guided Gratitude Meditation. Listen to it online or download it to your iPod.  Do you want to know how the attitude of gratitude can change your life? Click here to find out and to discover gratitude practices that can shift your attitude even when you don't feel particularly grateful. Research proves that people who regularly practice grateful thinking can increase their "set point" for happiness by 25%! That's not bad.

Gratitude is about welcoming the present moment: receiving and appreciating it. And while I am writing about gratitude and appreciation, I want to take this moment to thank you. Because of you and others I am able to do the work that I love. Everyday I am fortunate to talk about, write about, and share my experiences with meditation, self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-love.

I am continually fulfilled by the transformation that I see and hear about in the lives of my students, as they rediscover who they are, what they really want, how to take care of themselves, and live an authentic life. I am honored to be on this journey with you.

I want to share what else I am grateful for (You might want to come up with your own list!)

I am thankful to the creator for this awesome creation and the splendor and wonder that abounds.

I am thankful for being awake, alive, aware and well today and the constant blessings in my life.

I am thankful for my husband, family, canine companions, friends, teachers, and community,

I am thankful for my beautiful home and to live in nature's splendor,

I am thankful for my awareness, peace of mind, my sense of safety, my freedom, an ability to love and be loved,

I am grateful for our human rights, our civil rights, our access to education, literacy, and the freedom to worship and express ourselves freely.

I am thankful for the the ever-expanding intelligent universe, the earth, the sun, moon, stars, planets, clean air, pure water, flora, fauna, and the elements of nature,

I am thankful for those who work on my behalf including the farmers, ranchers, animals and many others who help to sustain my life.

I am thankful for the growing awareness of resource conservation and the inter-connectedness of all things.

I am thankful for my senses and my inner knowing and how they help to navigate this world.

I am thankful that I can share my experiences with you and for the various technologies available in this time that help me connect to you.

Thank you.  Here's a great video about the gifts that life brings to each one of us. It certainly inspires gratitude. Watch it here from Ted.com.

I'll leave you with a quote from
the late Richard Carlson, author of Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...and it's All Small Stuff

To a happy person the formula for happiness is quite simple: Regardless of what happened early this morning, last week, or last year - or what may happen later this evening, tomorrow, or three years from now - now is where happiness lies.

Appreciate your life!

Golden Motorcycle Gang

P.S. I am excited to tell you about a book my friend Bill Gladstone just released, THE GOLDEN MOTORCYCLE GANG that he wrote with Jack Canfield, co-author of the best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series. In it, Jack shares his amazing life story, including his vision while meditating of being a member of a golden, soul-traveling motorcycle gang who saw Earth in peril and came here to assist during a massive global transformation. William Gladstone instantly saw himself in a similar role - and this blockbuster collaboration was the result!

This part autobiography, part spiritual adventure story and 2012 resource will give you insights in the evolutionary shift that's occurring right now! Click here for more information, video and ordering.
