Jefferson Vineyards, Virginia (United States) Viognier 2007 ($27)

2007 Jefferson Viognier

Consistently one of Virginia's (and therefore America's) best Viogniers, Jefferson's rendition tastes rich but also lithe, and so is refreshing rather than ponderous.

Like the other top examples from the Old Dominion, it manages to capture this grape's elusive floral bouquet, and so both smells and tastes compelling.  Few West Coast Viogniers can match it.
