Three days of exciting Rockmore Auction activity are coming up this weekend and Monday (eBay) and we wanted you to be prepared. Saturday & Sunday Crescent City Auction will be offering the great works above from the Dr. James Nelson Collection. Dr. Nelson is from Gonzales, LA "The Jambalaya Capital of the World" and also Tee Marvin's home town.

Lot #632 Portrait of a Woman by Gladys

One of the works from his collection is a Gladys Rockmore Davis nude sketch and the other is a stunning portrait that has been attributed to Gladys Rockmore Davis because it was in her possession. This work has all sorts of mystery surrounding it that involves Renoir, Larry Borenstien and Noel Rockmore. There are also several Rockmore nudes in this auction that in the words of a young LaGrange Rockmore fan are "inappropriate Rockmores!" On Monday March 26th at 9PM Eastern, the 10 works below from the Shirley Marvin Collection will be offered on eBay. These works contain references to several people that were important to Rockmore throughout his life. There is a large framed work of Dr. Brotman and another "dedicated in death to John Miller."

John Miller was a talented French Quarter artist that was also a close friend of Rockmore. Some of John's relatives are on a quest to find out more about him so if you would like to help, please let us know and we will connect you. There is an interesting work of "Lisa" also included in this week's eBay and Rockmore did several nice portraits of Lisa that have surfaced recently. There seems to be a mystery as to who she was and why he did such nice portraits of her.

This coming week is quite exciting because we will be interviewing a close childhood, high school and 1950s friend of Rockmore, David Lattimore. We will also be traveling to NYC to meet with the Award winning documentary director to go over the final details of this GAME CHANGING collaboration. More details to come in the next newsletter and we will keep you posted.
