Greetings!

A few LaGrange Rockmore Show last minute details and a recap of a GREAT visit with Gypsy Lou Webb who we had not visited since her fall and hospitalization earlier this year. Gypsy Lou looked great and was as feisty as ever. She is in a new ground level apartment complex and is already a well known resident that wields a mean cane especially when banging open the mailbox (think Fonzy and the jukebox). She was moving around quite well with her cane (won't use the walker) but has not returned to the Senior Center because she says she does not think she can get up the three steps into their van and she is not happy the driver will not help her (so she says - with Lou there is always an antagonist).

She received a random check for $100 while we were there from one of the folks that she knew from the French Quarter that has followed her through this newsletter. Not sure if she was happier about the money or the lovely note but she sure was excited to have someone to write back to. Without the Senior Center, that is all she does now is write letters and patrol the apartment complex for never do wells, so if you have a chance - Gypsy Lou Webb, 1050 Cousin St. Apt. A, Slidell, LA, 70458

She told us a story about her early years in the Quarter when this skinny little guy approached her early one morning as she set up on Pirates Alley. He just wanted to talk to her and hear her complicated traveling life story but he did not buy anything. She told us, "His name was Robert Zimmerman but everyone knew him as Bob Dylan and he wrote a song about me." We smiled and nodded, because with Lou, you just never know what is real. I Googled Gypsy Lou - Bob Dylan after we left, 1963 Witmark records - it's as real as it gets!

Last Minute Show details for those that are coming or want a catalog!

1) Sneak Preview on Saturday 11-4PM

If you are coming to the show and want to be a part of the Sneak Preview from 12-4 on Saturday, you will need to make contact with us so we can escort you through the venues. The local folks are being encouraged to buy $30 tickets to the 7-11 PM Rockmore Masquerade Party that evening and will not be allowed in for FREE until Tuesday. So make sure you give us a call (508-577-7059 - Rich's cell) or email so we can direct you to where we are on Saturday and have you on the sneak preview guest list.

2) Catalogs

The catalogs are the property of the LaGrange Art Museum who printed them at great expense thanks to Patrons Ralph & Nita Howard and the BrainJogging Non Profit Organization. The Museum is aware that these catalogs are a highly prized item and are doing everything they can to get folks to visit during the three months the show is up. After the show ends in February, they will take stock of the inventory and at that time arrangements might be made to mail them out at cost. Sorry and we hope you understand and maybe are inspired to stop in between now and the end.

We are just so happy that 5 years after discovering Rockmore in Shirley's storage, we are on the eve of experiencing the BIGGEST ROCKMORE event in history with her.
