Greetings!
What an EXCITING FALL we are having in the Rockmore world, not to mention the Hurricanes and earthquakes in the real world! The BIG NEWS is that the BIGGEST Rockmore Show ever is coming up in LaGrange, GA opening on October 28th-30th and it is going to be a party. There is going to be a Brochure going out soon with all sorts of pictures and details and you can have a sneak peek of the copy(no pictures) thanks to the Lagrange Daily News who is putting it together. If you would like a FREE copy of this Collectible Rockmore Brochure, please let us know. Even better, if you know some people, or museum folks, or art enthusiast that might enjoy a copy, tell us how many you need or who to send them to and we will. Thanks in advance! The other Big News is that Rockmore is really coming up on the visibility radar as evidenced by all these Rockmore works at Auction at 3 Auction Houses across the US in the next week. Word is out and even in this economy, Rockmore's name and reputation is strong enough for folks to list our guy! None of the upcoming works are from the Shirley Marvin Collection although we think some came from her apartment after Katrina and you can read the Complete Auction report for more details on that little mystery. The Summer was chock full of exciting Rockmore events like the following: A Preservation Hall Concert in Cape Cod, A Visit with Davis Amram - World famous composer & Rockmore childhood friend, seeing Top Notch Rockmores at the Longwood Center for Visual Arts in Farmville, VA, and moving Shirley's art from New Orleans to Lagrange, GA. We will be driving back down to Georgia this coming week to help prepare for the Rockmore show and to attend the current Lagrange Art Museum show and reception featuring Francoise Gilot (Picassos widow - "Surviving Picasso"). Then hopefully, it is on to Louisiana to visit Shirley and get her Golden Era of the French Quarter Foundation up and running. The Rockmore Facebook fan page is still growing and getting new fans and the eBay Auctions of Shirley Marvin Collection works have been running on Saturdays at 10PM and will run at least one more week. See below for this week's offerings which will certainly cost you less than the auction house Rockmores. Due to the financial crisis in the world and at the Lagrange Art Museum, they did not have funds to pay for shipping the works of collectors outside of Lagrange. We know this is disappointing to many of you but consider this as the laying of the foundation for much bigger things to come. There will be over 250 Rockmores on view as we try and get Noel the recognition he deserves. Don't forget to let us know if you need extra brochures or who to send one to. We really need your help and support on getting the word out! Have a great September! Rich & Tee & Shirley Marvin The Noel Rockmore Project Team- email link The New Website -www.rockmore.org |
