Greetings!
Greetings from our final two days of an exciting month on the road. On Thursday, we will stop in Farmville VA, at the Longwood Visual Arts Center to see Rockmores donated by Victor Potamkin in the 70s after his break with Rockmore. We just finished up meeting with the Lagrange Art Museum and they are very excited about their Rockmore Show at the end of October - details are coming. Lots of exciting things have happened including moving the Shirley Marvin Collection from New Orleans to Lagrange. Several meetings with key players in New Orleans were very helpful and have led to more connections including Scott Hutcheson with the Mayor of New Orleans staff. All are very encouraging on having the Golden Era of the French Quarter Foundation create a French Quarter Museum in New Orleans featuring Noel Rockmore soon. We did not want you to miss these great Rockmore works coming up at Crescent City Auction this coming Saturday July 23rd. These are the remaining Rockmore works from Bryant Galleries that have closed their New Orleans offices. There are three large pastels from 1988, a Civil War work, an Egyptian work, a Haitian work and 2 Large 4ft by 8ft Murals from the Homage to New York #4 series (that originally included three panels - Bryant sold one). Sorry to not have more details but it is hard to keep up the computer work on the road. |
