Greetings!  

Greetings at this very busy time of year with graduations, weddings and transitions in the works for many folks including us. Rich & Tee's youngest child of 5, Taylor Rose Marvin, is an official high school graduate and the Social Studies and Drama Award winner for her school.

The BIG News for Rockmore this week is that the Marfa Ballroom Video is complete and has actually been uploaded by Tee; "The World According to New Orleans" is available via this link. Tee Marvin shot this with a handheld camera and no extra lights or mikes and then edited it extensively adding Rockmore friend, John "Kid" Simmons' music for the background. Fortunately, Dan Cameron's lecture and the art and artists were so engaging that it was easy to build the film around it. We will spend the next month getting this program aired in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Cape Cod and other public access stations. Just wait until we can set up the lights and mikes and have two cameras and a crew!

This also represents the first completed Project for Shirley Marvin's newly formed Non Profit, "The Golden Era of the French Quarter" (GEFQ) and gives you a feel for the direction the GEFQ Foundation secured by her Rockmore collection is headed. The dream of Rockmore recognition and all those he documented continues with the addition of preserving the characters we have researched and met that helped create this Golden Era (1959-1984) before that important NOLA history is lost forever.

There are now 1011 Noel Rockmore Facebook Fans! Very interesting response to a recent post validating Rockmore's claim of a brief affair with Odetta in 1963.
