The Auction tonight has a RARE treasure that was discovered today as the Civil War Telegraphs Corps was being matted. Five of Rockmore's right footprints, 3 complete with nice detail, were discovered on the back of the Civil War work. The size 9 1/2 foot was in a maroon watercolor and the artist decided to step on the work several times in his own distinct master artist creative way.

it is the only complete footprint that we have documented to date.
Rockmore was well known for stomping on canvas and paper as we learned in our documentation with family & friends. This could have forensic value as well in the future and the Civil War Telegraphs Corps is a great stand alone treasure all by itself.
