Greetings!

The BEST way to start the Fall Season is with a Party celebrating these two French Quarter icons who have survived a memorable summer and are still standing tall! We hope you can join us, please invite your friends. Bryant Galleries will have some of their few remaining Rockmores up for sale and Shirley will have plenty of Rockmore images on display. Best of all we can all catch up and say hello in a very relaxed setting with no agenda except celebrating making it to here! You can email us if you think you might attend or just show up that day.

The BIG NEWS this month is that Noel Rockmore has been selected by Curator Dan Cameron for the MARFA Texas Ballroom Show next spring and summer. This will be the first Major Exhibition for Rockmore since the NOMA Retrospective in 1998. Dan has preselected 26 works so far that he will narrow down as the show approaches. To see his preselections you can go to the Noel Rockmore Facebook Fan Page.Find us on Facebook

The success of the Rockmore Facebook page is our next exciting news. In the first week since Rich's daughters taught him how to use this social media - Noel Rockmore has 100 fans and growing. If you do Facebook, please add us to your like list. We will be posting interesting updates several times a week as we bring Rockmore to the national recognition he deserves.

On a sad note, the past Friday Sept. 24, 2010, Noel Rockmore's sister, Deborah Davis, passed away in San Leandro, Ca with Noel's son Chris Davis by her side. She was preceded in death by her brother Noel Rockmore in 1995 and most recently by her life partner of 44 years Bonnie Vail in 2008. Shirley was a life long friend of Debs and we were fortunate enough to interview and visit both Bonnie and Deb several times in the last few years at their home. They were fun, loud, attentive to facts and details, full of life and excited about the fact that The Noel Rockmore Project was happening. Deb was as devoted to her brother Noel as Noel was to her - she will be missed.

May their memories be a blessing to all,

Rich & Tee and Shirley Marvin

PS. Let us know if you might attend The Birthday Party Sat Oct. 9 - so we can plan ahead.
