This is our first Noel Rockmore Project Update of 2010 with a New Format.
We have just posted our very first
You Tube Video - click here. Its a clip that gives you a feel for how we have been structuring the mechanics of the Noel Rockmore Project and features Shirley, Rich & Tee. Tee Marvin has been working hard on her video editing skills and this first work shows it. Eventually, we would like to video many of the Rockmore characters and put together a documentary of everyone - one You Tube clip at a time.
We have just returned from a trip to Washington DC where we saw Rockmores at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, the Hirshhorn Museum and the US Army Center of Military archives which had 42 of Noel's parents works. It was an amazing trip and all three institutions were more than willing to work with us on our mission of getting Noel Rockmore and his family recognized. We also visited with a friend of Noel Rockmore's from the mid 60's and shared a wonderful dinner.
If you are interested in a lot more of the details of this Washington Trip, please check out our very first Blog -
On the Rockmore Trail - Jan 20-23, 2010 Washington D.C. trip. Rich apologizes in advance for his extreme verbosity - it is a blog though and there are some very cool pictures.
This coming weekend on January 30-31, 5 lots of Noel Rockmore's works will be coming up for auction at Neal Auction in New Orleans Louisiana. For those of you that like the detailed info on these auctions and recent past auctions including Rockmore works sold on eBay,
you can simply click here.
Our next adventure has us in New Orleans from Feb. 3-10 where we will be trying to meet with museums, galleries and auction houses to plan some future Noel Rockmore Get Togethers. If you have Rockmore's or Rockmore stories and have not been documented, please let us know.
We are quite excited about things that will be happening this year where anything seems possible.
