"I'm Going to Get Organized!"
Why This is a Myth
I hear people say this time and time again, thinking this is the end-all to their challenges throughout the day. Well, here's the reality: You never will be "organized", because that indicates you are at a standstill, and life is not a standstill proposition!
Everything is a process, and engaging in the process of improvement is what will have you feel better, and be able to make it through your day more productively and efficiently. Here's some things to consider:
- Business changes. Very few, if any, businesses are still being run the same way they were 12 month ago. Staff changes, market changes, products and service demand changes.
- Review. Once you get "organized" or map your processes and systems, things change again. You will need to regularly review and update them, to keep the business flowing and moving ahead.
Be open to change. Remember the Borg from the Star Trek series? "Resistance is futile!" Things will change, with or without you. Look at our kids with technology--they are not afraid to embrace the newest thing that comes along. In fact, they delight in trying new things out!
- Enjoy the journey! It really is about the journey and not the end result. If the goal is all there is, the real lessons and opportunities are most often missed or overlooked.
My continued intention is to have everyone be more aware and conscious of how they spend their time and energy, to increase their productivity. I would love to be able to help YOU be more productive. Just give me a call!

Green Ways to Save Money
Here are some simple and easy tips to keep in mind:
- Don't peek in the oven. It can lower the temperature 25 degrees and lengthen cooking time.
- Keep drinking water in the refrigerator. Not only will you save water by not waiting until it is cool (especially in our AZ summers), but a full refrigerator doesn't have to work so hard.
- Only wash full loads of laundry with eco-friendly detergents. Save on water and harmful chemicals in our water systems which take enormous amounts of energy and money to clean back up.
- Take mass transit, carpool, share a ride (or even better--telecommute if you can) one day a week saving about $455 in driving costs per year.
- Use reusable shopping bags, reducing landfill waste as well as the resources it takes to manufacture and ship the plastic or paper bags to the stores.
