Greetings!
"To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." Remember these words from the song the Byrds made famous? These words couldn't be more true in these times of change for us all.
I myself have gone through a lot of change in the last few months. I listened and watched what was happening in my business, and to the stresses I was experiencing that were causing mental and physical symptoms in my life.
My business was just not supporting my family any more, and a very synchronistic opportunity opened up (which I accepted) as Business Operations Manager at PerfectPower, Inc., a premier solar electric engineering, sales and installation company here in the Valley. They are a wonderful company, owned by my colleague Lynn-Paige.
I am still handling some clients in my "spare time", and will continue this newsletter.
I also decided to let go of some of my volunteer commitments, including my Executive Board position with the Phoenix Green Chamber of Commerce. I am still a member of many organizations, but have chosen to scale back my involvement for the time being.
I have to admit, I was very tentative about these changes and their impact on myself and others, but without going into "story", it got to the point where the Universe was pushing these changes with such pressure, that I re-aligned my relationship with Spirit, did some forgiveness work, listened to my coach, took and deep breath, and jumped!
Guess what? I have received overwhelming support! My friends, clients, family and colleagues were more than generous with their caring, energy, prayers and good wishes for my future, and I am so grateful and thankful for them!
So this month is about making it through the tough decisions and change. I hope you will find some piece that may give you the courage to make the changes that are calling out to you. Enjoy! |

Listening
To what wants to happen. . .
I wonder if you have ever experienced this--you are all set to do something, go somewhere, or make a decision about something, and it seems that no matter which way you turn, things just aren't falling into place? Then many times, later on, you see why.
To apply that in the workplace, let's take a look at some circumstances where just sitting back, stepping out of the picture, and listening and
looking for what WANTS to happen, instead of what we THINK or are PUSHING to happen could mean higher profits and more productivity.
- Position changes. When there is an opportunity for change in a position in the company, perhaps it may be that the role needs to be redefined or the needs of the organization have changed. Many times, especially in smaller companies, just replacing someone to do the same thing leads to more turnover and costs. This is a big clue that perhaps something needs to be revisited.
- Sales. When you play "tag" with someone, or the phone or computer goes down just when you are trying to reach them. Stop and Listen! Is now the right time? Do they need something else from you? Is there something else you need to do first? It will be in a whisper, or an article that comes across your desk, or perhaps a conversation, but the answer will come if you are aware enough, and you will be more productive when you do connect.
- What to do next. When you are at a place between tasks. Stop and ask--what is the next best thing for me to do right now? It may be take a break, make a call or research something you hadn't considered before. It doesn't always make sense, but learn to trust your answers.
- Our body. If we listen to our body, it will speak, and sometimes even SCREAM what it wants. If we don't listen at times, we experience illness and dis-ease, which will surely drop productivity. As I was writing this, my body wanted a smoothie. So I made one with fresh pineapple, blueberries, yogurt and milk. Doesn't sound like it would be that good, but it was great, and just what I needed to be satisfied.
- Finances. This is a big one for me, and as I said above, had me recently really stop and listen. What wanted to happen? A full time job for me, helping people I really like in their business, instead of doing it through my business.
The point is, we are in such a transformational and somewhat challenging and uneasy time, with great opportunities, if we will just LISTEN.

Calculate Your Carbon Footprint
If you are interested in learning what your personal carbon footprint is, and what components make up the calculation, here is a great website that is easy to use: www.carbonfootprint.com
We used it when my daughter had a homework assignment to find out our footprint, and although our footprint was better than I expected, we still have some work to do, especially with car emissions! How about you?
