Welcome to The Space You're In OrganizEzine!

Greetings!

Welcome back!  I appreciate you taking the time to read these tips each month and for letting me know how they are helping you!
Meeting Follow Up

Do you attend regular meetings that you have follow up actions on?  Ever get to the next meeting and realize you didn't get it done?  "EEEK!"  you say as you slide down in your chair.

Here are some procedures and and habits to put into place to keep that from happening again!

  1. Take a highlighter with you to the meeting.  Linda StanfieldWhen taking notes on the agenda (hopefully there is one--Hint!), or your notepad, highlight those items that you have agreed to do and write in a "by when" next to it.
  2. Upon returning to your office, make sure that by the end of the day, you have entered those items onto your Big Picture Action List (email me if you would like a copy of this), and you have made time to work on those items in your calendar.
  3. Delegate what you can!
  4. Have a dedicated meeting folder for you to put the outcomes of your actions into and take to the meeting.  Keep it handy so you will use it! Or . .
  5. If only a few items, enter the outcomes into your next meeting appointment in Outlook.  Open the appointment and there is plenty of room for notes right there.  Be sure to print this off before leaving for the meeting.
  6. Get it done early, so you don't have to sweat over it the night before!  (Yes, I see you out there!!)

Putting it "into existence" in your workspace is the key to getting them done and making sure there is no more "EEEK"s at your meetings!

Do You Know of Someone?

Do you know of someone who is looking for administrative work, or looking to change jobs?  I know of two opportunities and here they are:

  1. Office work and possibly some other duties.  North Phoenix area for a growing and busy service company. Someone with work experience and maturity, able to handle multiple tasks and be confident with decisions.
  2. A Personal Assistant for me Mesa location.  I am looking for someone to not only support me and my business, but do some personal errands and tasks as well.  Very part time to start, but grow with me as the business grows.  Person will have a positive attitude, be action oriented, able to work without much direction, possess great people and communication skills, have a flexible schedule and high computer skills.  Large portion of the work will be done virtually.  Trustworthy, reliable and considerate are also important traits.

If you know anyone that fits these descriptions, please email me!  Thanks!

"I had the opportunity to attend a presentation that Jody gave on utilizing Outlook. Though I know Jody is amazingly talented and resourceful, I wasn't expecting to have a huge shift in such a short amount of time. But Jody packed in so much useful information and made it so easy to understand and apply that I came away with several tactics that I was able to implement immediately that really simplified my life and helped me get out from under my 'virtual piles' of stuff."
