Thanksgiving Food/Beverage Drive.
Dear Friends:
This is our 2nd year that we help three organization that we wholeheartly support called, Our Youth, and Sylvia Place and E2K Magazine's Thanksgiving to inner city kids and their families and this year we are adding families that has Breast Cancer with a great meal for them and their love ones. I have one case that we found out that not only she has breast Cancer but that the doctor's found Cancer in her brain and honestly this is breaking my heart, cause she is like a sister to me. So we have a bigger demand this year, lets support our young people and give them hope in a mixup world.

Our Youth is a non profit organization designed to help gay lesbian bisexual trans gender youth and their straight allies. Our method of help is through workshops, delivering motivational speeches at schools around the United States, and by hosting a weekly support group. Thursday evenings Our Youth host a weekly support group where the young people within the Tri-State area can come and be themselves. We help the youth with issues at home, school, we help them with issues of coming out, and we offer medical referrals. We also conduct many fund raisers through out the year to rise awareness and funds. Group meetings are in our Jersey City, NJ office and group is from 5 30pm until 8pm every Thursday Evening.Check out our photos and join us as we continue the journey toward making the lives of our young people a more productive life. Sylvia's Place:
Sylvia's Place is an emergency overnight shelter for LGBTQ youth (under 24). We are open 365 days/year from 8pm-8am. Curfew is at 12am. We provide hot meals (dinner and breakfast); clothing; showers; case management; physical and mental health medical services; and court advocacy. Drop-in services at Sylvia's Place are 6-10:30pm, Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday. There are a number of regular groups at Sylvia's Place, including:
Trans Empowerment Group (Thursdays at 9pm)
Queer Women's Group (Tuesdays at 8:30pm)
Ballet (Thursdays at 7:30pm)
Creative Writing (Tuesdays at 6:30pm)
Sylvia's Place is located at 446 W.36th Street and accepts clients on a walk-in basis after 6pm daily as long as we have room. It is a good idea to call before coming to make sure there is space available (212) 629-7440 Ext. 226. No paperwork is necessary.

First and foremost let me say THANK YOU for agreeing to be apart of Our Youth's 2009 AIDS is a DRAR WRAP it UP! event. An event in recognition of World AIDS Day, an event to honor those that have helped Our Youth and the GLBT community, and an event to raise funds for Our Youth and a local HIV organization. The award ceremony will take place Saturday December 5th at the Our Youth Center (St Johns Church) 155 North St Jersey City NJ. The event will start at 5pm PROMPTLY.

The Summit will bring forward respected thought leaders in the field of science and technology for a daylong conference focused on providing small business owners, technology professionals, analysts and executives alike with intensive information on the changing tides of technology.
