FUN:
Color Me Spring
Walking for the joy of it
My husband, Bruce, and I have been walking together in the mornings for the last four months.
We've braved the cold, icy, snowy days and the wet, damp, windy mornings, the sunny days and all the gray days of February.
We walk along a hilly road alongside of a stream under a canopy of trees. Great cardio. Wonderful for chatting.
This season, we have carefully noted all the tiny signs of the arrival of spring -- from the first little white snowdrops to the lovely daffodils.
It's the colors that first catch your eye. A peek of lavender in a single crocus, the dazzling yellows of the daffy. The many shades of pink in the fruit tree blossoms, the varied tones of greens, the crystal blue of the sky, the dancing jewels of sunlight on the stream as it flows over the warm brown hues of the river rocks. The flash of red as the cardinal flies by.
You just have to stop and really take it all in, to be keenly aware of the changes day-to-day. Spring says, "Pay attention, notice me, and watch as I unfold."
Spring reminds me to live in and savor the moments in my life. I want to notice them all, to be aware of the changes in how I feel. I want to choose to dwell on the good stuff.
One thing that I know for sure is that looking and feeling Damn Good is always about attitude and it is always about choice. It's an inside job. The wonderful creative energy that comes from making that choice makes me blossom with all the brilliance that I see around me in spring.

"How Green is Your Closet?"
Spring cleaning my closet gives me the same feeling as clearing the dead leaves from the flower beds and putting down fluffy new mulch.
When you say, "See you" to all your winter clothes and make room for your Spring and Summer pieces, recycle items you know you'll never wear again by donating or taking items to consignment.
When your closet has been "greened", you'll have plenty of room to add all the beautiful Spring colors to your wardrobe.
Have fun this season when you are choosing a few wonderful things to brighten up the favorites you kept from last year. Go get something yellow. Yellow shoes will put a spring in your step.
LDG Rule
Remember, you don't need a lot of clothes, just a few of the right ones.

FAMILY:
Eighteen and Still Counting
This year on Easter, the entire Cargill clan succeeded in gathering in one place to celebrate together.
At the end of the day, after we'd said our goodbyes and people starting pulling out of the driveway, I suddenly remembered this was the year we were definitely going to get a picture of ALL the kids. With just a bit of commotion and counting heads, we finally managed to get everyone together for this shot. What fun!
