The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) is proud to announce that it has awarded $82,450 in the second round of grants for fiscal year (FY) 12!
We'd like to thank Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett and the members of the County Council for their support of the arts and humanities budget that allows AHCMC to fund the individuals, organizations and programs that contribute greatly to the vibrancy of Montgomery County's economy and quality of community!
The following grants were awarded for the second half of FY12:
Grants to Mid-Size Arts and Humanities Organizations are available to arts and humanities organizations with annual cash operating expenses above $25,000 who are not eligible to apply for General Operating Support Grants. These grants support the presentation of high-quality programs, the improvement of management skills, or the purchase of equipment or capital improvements. Organizations are eligible to receive up to $25,000 per year in one or more grants. For the second half of FY12, there were nine awards to nine Mid-Size Arts and Humanities Organizations for a total of $70,950:
Arts on the Block; Bel Cantanti Opera Company; The Bach Sinfonia; Damascus Theatre Company; Gandhi Brigade Incorporated; Heritage Tourism Alliance of Montgomery County; The Jazz Academy of Music; Washington Revels; Zemer Chai
Grants to Small Arts and Humanities Organizations are available to arts and humanities organizations with annual cash operating expenses up to $25,000, and are intended to support the presentation of high-quality programs for the public. Organizations are eligible to receive up to $5,000 per year. For the second half of FY12, there were awards to three Small Arts and Humanities Organizations as listed below for a total of $11,500:
