People Gather Around the Good Stuff!

Ever wonder why Montgomery County's population keeps inching up year after year? It's because of all the good stuff we have here--great schools, beautiful greenways, hip places to visit, and a vibrant arts and cultural community. Creative vitality is a prominent feature of our life style here in MoCo and one we value!

Did you know Montgomery County boasts over 450 cultural organizations? and 1500 artists and scholars?  MoCo IS Maryland's most dynamic arts community. In fact, we'd like you to check out our Creative & Economic Vitality statistics below or on our website (click here) because we're extremely proud of what Montgomery County has become.

Since 1976, The Arts & Humanities Council has been the leader in the county's cultural sector. In 2007 County Council recognized that leadership and designated AHCMC the agency to distribute all County funds for the arts and humanities. In this role, AHCMC manages a competitive grants program that funds many of your favorite cultural institutions: The Music Center at Strathmore,  the National Philharmonic, Montgomery County Historical Society, The Writer's Center and the Puppet Co., to name a few.

Today, we're asking you to make a contribution to our 2012 Overture Campaign to help us protect and strengthen MoCo's creative community.
