Green Dictionary
Certified:
Designation that a green product 
adheres to
its claims and passed a certification process.
 
Fair Trade:  A movement that promotes standards for international labor in wages, safety and opportunities.
 
Natural:  A product that is made entirely from materials found in nature, with little or no human intervention.
 
Organic:  Anything produced or grown naturally without human intervention, no conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers, and processed without additives. Organic food products from animals are not processed with antibiotics or grown hormones and the animals are treated humanely.
 
Post-consumer:  Recycled materials that have first been used by a consumer.  Post-consumer content helps divert waste from landfills.
 
Renewable: A raw material that can be replenished within a reasonable amount of time.
 
Sustainable:  Actions and products that meet current needs without sacrificing the ability of future generations to meet theirs.  Often refers to providing the best for humans and the environment both now and in the future.
