Sing Mahler with us |
 |
Like Beethoven's Ninth, Gustav Mahler's
Second Symphony ("Resurrection") employs
a choir only in its final movement. But what
a movement! Barely audible at first, the
voices build slowly to what may be music's
greatest climax--an unforgettable experience
for any singer. But don't take our word for
it. Come feel it for yourself on Monday,
April 5, at 7 p.m., at Hennepin
Avenue United Methodist Church in
Minneapolis for the Chorale's
final InChoir program of the current
season.
And a special treat: we'll sing the
rarely-heard choral parts from
Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," also
included on this program.
Chorale Artistic Director Kathy Saltzman
Romey is conductor and
host. Admission is free, and music is provided.
This edition of InChoir is connected
to the Chorale's preparation for a
performance of these works with the Minnesota
Youth Symphonies on Sunday, April 25, 3
p.m. at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.
