Youth Chorus takes the stage |
|
In just its third year, the Chorale's
Minneapolis Youth Chorus is providing its
singers with a rich variety of
musical experiences. From recording sessions
and a CD release performance with the Sweet
Colleens, to
concerts with the Chorale (see article at
left), these students are
enrolled in 20 different schools throughout
Minneapolis.
MYC is now preparing for its most
ambitious undertaking yet:
the Windy City Youth Choral Festival
this June. Along with youth choirs from
around the U.S., our MYC singers will perform
at Chicago's legendary Orchestra Hall.
The Minneapolis Youth Chorus is an auditioned
ensemble open to Minneapolis Public School
students in grades 4 through 8. MYC seeks to
enrich the lives of participants by providing
them with opportunities to develop their
musical gifts in an environment dedicated to
the celebration of diversity and the pursuit
of artistic excellence.
MYC is
offered at no charge to participants: all
costs are borne by the Minnesota Chorale.
