Monday evening, May 4, marks the final
event
in this season's
InChoir series, hosted and conducted
by Chorale artistic director Kathy Saltzman
Romey. The session is devoted to Beethoven's
monumental
Missa Solemnis, which the
Chorale will
sing with the Minnesota Orchestra in June.
Join us, whether to sing or simply to listen,
as we explore the depths of this
extraordinary music. This free event begins
promptly at 7 p.m. at
St. Olaf Catholic Church, 215 S. Eighth St.,
in downtown Minneapolis. Reservations are not
required.

Part choral piece, part violin concerto,
Jennifer
Higdon's The Singing Rooms
will receive its Midwest premiere May 21 and
22 with the Chorale and the Minnesota
Orchestra under the baton of Osmo Vänskä. The
piece, which has won acclaim from critics in
Philadelphia and Atlanta, compares the stages
of life to a succession of rooms, each a
setting for song. Jennifer Koh is the
