| Men In Music work with high school singers |
 |
|
Now in its second year, the Minnesota
Chorale's Men In Music program has
spent the last month preparing for its High
School Men's Choir Workshop, set for Monday,
February 23rd. The workshop is designed to
encourage young men currently enrolled in
high school programs to continue to sing by
giving them a chance to hear a top-flight
adult men's ensemble, and to have an
opportunity to sing together in a large men's
choir.
Chorale singers, led by Men In Music
co-directors David Nordli and Jon Lahann,
have rehearsed with men's groups at
Centennial High School in Circle Pines
(Robert Schlidt, director), Columbia Heights
High School (Tony Rangel, director), and St.
Paul's Central High School (Martha Graber,
director). Their work together will culminate
in a joint rehearsal in preparation for the
performance. The concert itself will feature
performances by the men of the Minnesota
Chorale, by each of the high school ensembles
individually, and by the combined group of
high school and Chorale singers.
The performance, to be held in the Centennial
High School Performing Arts Center starting
at 8 p.m., February 23, is free and open to
the public. For directions, click
