Land's Sake Membership
One of the best ways you can support Land's Sake is to become a member, or renew your membership. Our work would not be possible without the help of our generous members. In addition to supporting the mission of Land's Sake, members receive benefits as a thank you for your support.

For information about membership, click here. All membership donations are tax deductible.
Got milk?
Recycle your empty gallon milk jugs with Land's Sake! These jugs make great containers when cutting flowers in the field. Please bring your clean jugs to the Land's Sake farmstand and we'll put them to use in our flower garden. Thanks!

Kids need fresh air, dirt under their fingernails and that good exhausted feeling which comes from growing and harvesting bushels of fresh veggies. Green Power Summer participants work in their own field alongside Land's Sake farm and education staff while learning about local ecology, land stewardship and the benefits of working as a team.

Student Stipend & Rules:Students will receive a stipend of up to $20/week (averaging 10-15 hours per week). When seasonally available, the group will make snacks such salsa, pesto, and raspberry smoothies. To register, please click here.
Did you notice?

Thanks to Edward Kwiatkowski you will never be far from a comfortable place to sit when walking around Land's Sake's farm. Inspired by his own walks around the land, Edward decided to make wood benches for Land's Sake as his Eagle Scout project. And make benches he did. Edward produced SIX beautiful and carefully crafted benches that are placed around the farm to provide wonderful opportunities to relax and enjoy the landscape. To help you along the way, he has also included a collection of walking sticks that are hung near the farm stand behind the white Pick-Your-Own sign. The entire Land's Sake community thanks Edward for his generous and thoughtful gifts. We will all benefit from his hard work for years to come.

Also, the recent storms brought down a spectacular tree on a back field on the 40-acre farm. This proved to be bad news not only for the tree but also our new yurt located nearby. As you can see from the photo above, the tree fell squarely into the middle of the yurt which totaled the structure. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

The yurt was made possible through a generous grant from the Telaka Foundation. We are very sad about the loss and are left again without shelter on the main farm for use in our education programs. The search begins again for funds for a replacement. If you are interested in making a donation towards this need, please contact Peter Hyde, acting Executive Director, at 781-893-1162. We would be grateful for the assistance.
The farm stand is now open

For many of us summer officially starts when the farmstand opens. Well, summer is here! The farm stand is now open Tuesday-Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Currently on the stand: head lettuce, green garlic, scallions, kale, chard, beets, bok choi, spinach and garlic scapes. Please stop by for the first of summer's produce.

Also, the Pick-Your-Own strawberries season has begun. Please call our Pick-Your-Own hotline before coming to pick: 781.609.2456. This message is updated daily. Based on field conditions, we determine if picking is available. In general, we cannot allow picking when the fields are wet in order to prevent the spread of plant disease via human hands.

Also on the farm, three new interns joined us this week as well as six terrific work-share workers. In addition, CSA members have been coming out and contributing their time on the farm. We are grateful the extra help and truly enjoying seeing so many new faces on the farm. Thank you!

If you are interested in volunteering on the farm, please email farmvolunteer@landssake.org. We'd love to have you join us in this rewarding work.
Land's Sake is sustained by the products we sell, contracts we receive to tend town land and the generous donations of people like you who value your connection to a local, educational farm. Please consider sending this email to someone who might not know about us. Better yet, bring them to the farm, show them around and help them make their own connection.

Best wishes for a happy, safe summer.

Sincerely,
the Land's Sake staff
