Hello Land's Sake friends,

This month is a month of much transition for us. Please read on for updates about our search for a new Executive Director, the status of our organizational assessment process and announcements regarding returning and departing staff.

Change and transition is happening outside as well. The clocks have jumped ahead and the ground is reading itself for plowing and planting. Our greenhouse is full of onion seedlings and more will be added soon.

We hope you'll join us this Saturday at our Sugaring Off Festival when we celebrate the maple season by tasting the fruit of our labors...local maple syrup! Our syrup was produced by Land's Sake staff with the help of Weston Middle School students and volunteers. Come for a tour of our Sugar House, pancakes and live music as well!

Organizational Assessment

In January, the Board of Directors in collaboration with Pat Gray, a consultant to nonprofits and educational farms, began an intensive organizational assessment with the goal of gaining more insight into the Land's Sake community, its vision of the organization and areas in which we might better serve our many constituents. The assessment included an online survey, interviews with key community members, staff/board workshops and a public forum held at the library. We plan to use this  feedback in countless ways in the future as we develop a stronger, more focused organization. Thank you for your time in this effort!

We are pleased to announce the randomly selected winners of a $50 gift certificate for Land's Sake products and services in appreciation for their participation in our online survey. They are Zibby Ericson and Margaret Zusky. Congratulations!
Education Update

This month we say goodbye to Casey Townsend our Education Director. Casey has done an incredible job expanding and improving our education programs for both children and adults. He is well loved by parents, students, teachers and staff alike. Please join us in wishing Casey well as he sets off on a new adventure.

We are also pleased to announce that Douglas Cook will take over as Education Director effectively immediately. We are very excited to have Doug working with us in this role and look forward to the contributions he will make. Doug grew up in the fields and forests of Washington, New Hampshire and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in experiential education. He has taught environmental education and brings years of experience growing up in a rural farming community. He can be reached at doug@landssake.org. Welcome, Doug!
